this is my first sony, and if dont manage to solve some of the problems, probably the last one.
from what i gather i'm not the only one having problems shutting down windows - tried using both win xp pro and win xp mce 2005 (as expected it didnt make a difference). so when i click shut down, the computer goes to the blue screen of shutting down and never shuts down, i have to use the power button. this was solved by disabling the integrated web cam - is there any way to solve this without doing this - i do use my webcam.
secondly, a lot of times when i leave the laptop running, i come back and it's off (its on wall outlet so not because of battery) and when i turn it back on i get notified that windows has recovered from a serious system error - this happens on a fresh windows installation.
and thirdly, as i install my own windows (my laptop was bought in italy and i want english windows) i have drivers, but i cant find sony utils that i need to use my extra s1 and s2 keys, and mute button is not working properly - if i shut down my computer with mute, and turn it back on, sound stays muted, but windows doesnt recognize it, so the only way to bring back the sound is to unmute with the button and then with the mixer app - is there a solution to this (and a way to use all of fn keys would be nice)
i tried updating the bios, but the new version said that i already have it (the new version which ironically solves the problems regarding shut down instability - the problems which i have with that bios).
so pls help, because i like my laptop, if only it would work properly...
thank you all in advance

Hi nedim and welcome to Club Vaio.
To solve your webcam problem you need the Hotfix KB909667 from Microsoft. You can download and install it from HERE. This is only available for English Language versions of Windows - so it should install. If it doesn't come back as there is another fix.
You can download the Preinstalled Utilities for your model from VAIO-LINK. I would install all the Utilities in order by expanding the download file to a temporary folder and running each installer in strict numerical order. To fix your special keys you need to install: -
1. Sony Utilities (installer folder 1)
2. Sony Shared Library (installer folder 2)
3. Vaio Event Service
but I would install them all to bring back the normal functions on your Vaio.
You can also download the Preinstalled Drivers and updated ones from the same place - these may fix your bluescreen problem.

and another problem - i connected a logitech wireless usb mouse, and windows recognized it and asked to install a hid driver, and i let it and after that every time i start wow (world of warcraft) after a few secs the internet connection seizes to work and wont accept any command (even disconnect). resetting and not using the mouse works, but playing wow with touchpad is almost impossible.
any possible solution to this?
