Service Pack 2 for windows XP

i have trouble with my vaio, i have an K115Z, and after i installed Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, i canoot clock my processor down, it is running opn his full 3.06 ghz all the time, and that is completly not necassary when watchin a DVD, or such a thing, and my accu is working about an hour on 3.06 ghz, but on degrade, i can work much longer (400 MHZ), however, this function does not work after i installed XP2, is there a patch, or is there anything i can do to make it work again?

yeah, i thought mine had it to, i thought the K115Z was te top model, but it aint:(, who cares, just sucking the accu

Yours IS the top model. Or was when you bought it. That's why yours has HT and mine doesn't.

Yes you have HT, it's controlled by the CPU Control bit of the Power Management. Mine is missing that part.

It's in the screenshot you posted up there ^^^^.

CPU Control is the HT control.
Thermal Control is the fan.

I don't have HT like you so I just have the Thermal control.
