please ADVICE: XP on recovery discs

Hi People, I want to buy a new desktop and was wondering if I can use the XP on the recovery discs of my sony desktop or laptop, for my new computer. Is this possible? Or do I have to buy XP new.....
I hope you give me some advice, otherwise costs me so much for xp....

The Recovery Discs will only install on a Vaio computer.

The installation will check to computer's BIOS for a code which will identify each Vaio by its make and model type.
