Pioneer BDC-TD01 won't recognize blank discs?

Hello,

I'm new here and hoping to get some help with my DVD drive.  I have Pioneer BD-ROM BDC-TD01 drive in a Windows 7 Sony laptop.  It had worked fine for buring onto blank DVDs and then just stopped.  It won't recognize that a blank disc is in the drive.  It runs CDs/DVDs/software discs fine.  The firmware is the latest update.  I have tried multiple brands of DVD+R and DVD+RW discs.

Anyone have any ideas?  Anyone know if this is a widespread problem with this DVD drive?
