Hello Hello,
I am writting you today to ask for help of the genuine people out there. What I am going to ask will need people with the solo purpose of making a person happy.
Well, I accidently overwritten my operating system and now there is no simple way to recover my VAIO's innicial settings. The one answer to this solution would be a recovery CD which I did not make before doing this gigantic mistake.
(I do not need any suggestions in how to solve this problem because I know very well what situation I am in and I assure you there is no other way)
I am usually very responsible with my things, but this time something did go wrong, and I deeply regret not having made a recovery CD.
I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FZ21E, and what I am asking is that someone with a laptop the same model as mine to send me a recovery CD of its laptop to me.
If someone with a Sony VAIO VGN-FZ21E finds it in his heart to do this big favor, send me a message.
Thank you very much.
PS: I am aware that I can contact Sony about this problem and eventually have them send me what I need. But I am afraid this will not happen as I am in a country this type of custumer service is of bad quality.
Hi rikkytje,
welcome to Club Vaio..
You're Vaio has a hidden HDD recovery partition and as long as it has not been deleted you should be able to recover your Vaio back to the original installed OS and programs just as it was when you first used your Vaio.
To do this Start your Vaio and when you see the Vaio logo screen press F10 repeatedly this normally would start the recovery process..
Unfortunately for me that doesn't help me.
I have tried that before posting this thread and the thing is... the options that that would give me is to restore my computer to its original state by using a recovery CD, which as I am asking for and do not have. The other option that is gives me is to use a restore point, which would bring my computer back to a time where it would work normally, that was if I had the restoring points of a time prior to the time I made the mistake I did.
I truly have tried everything, and I can't restore anything back to its original state without a recovery CD.

I am sorry to be insisting on this but as I said, I have done that. That option is no longer available for me. There is no need to be showing me prints of the manual because that obviously did come with my VAIO, and I had no trouble going through it when this problem showed up.
I am saying that when I have the screen up after I press the F10 button, it does not give me the options it would usually give on a normal Sony VAIO.
I know I give the impression I do not know what I am talking about, especially because I made the mistake I did... Thing is, after I committed it, I did the searching I should have done before the mistake. So although too late, I have the information.
Hi rikkytje,
unfortunately as this doesn't work then all I can suggest is that you contact Sony Vaio support to purchase a set of recovery disc's, you can do this either by phone or via e-Support, use the following link to find the contact details: Sony Vaio Support...
I dunno about Sony abroad, but in France, i'm pretty sure that Sony support service give free recovery discs if you get a non-working recovery partition .
pS: sorry i have FZ21M model, french
