My vaio won't start

When i switch my laptop on a black screen comes on with a list of options, i went to the one which said proceed to windows with last safe setting or something like that. After the windows xp logo comes up a blue screen comes on and the computer re-starts to the same black screen.

If you select Safe Mode from the options does that allow your system to start...

I just came home and my two week old vaio sz3 and also have the same problem. Whatever mode I choose, including safe mode, I get the a very short flash of a BSOD and then it reboots. It goes so fast that I can't see what is on the BSOD. Help!

I also see an orange light flashing quickly when I have the laptop connected to power. The reboot problem also occurs disconnected and with the battery removed.
