Modem status

I have model RX504 and want to view the modem status in the taskbar when on line but the STATUS option in CONTROL/PHONE&MODEM is greyed out.

Go to the Controll Pannel > Modems and Phones > Properties on your modem > show status in the system tray.

I think Jaan is probably right - you do not have administrator priviledges. Log on as administrator and see if they become availabe, if so then it is fairly simple to solve.
