Infrared

hey everyone!

if anybody could help with this problem I will be eternally grateful - its driving me nuts!!

I have a PCG-Z600NE, and i'm trying to connect my Nokia 8310 through the infrared port. I've never used the infrared port on the laptop before, so not sure if i need to set up anything in particular....but I have checked the BIOS and notebook setup stuff, and it appears to be enabled and working ok. When I try to connect the phone however, the laptop just cannot detect it at all....despite it being about 2 inches away, with the infrared thingies aligned, nothing in the way, and the infrared activated on the phone!!! aaaaaarrrggghhh!

Can anyone shed some light on this please??
