I am wondering if there is anyone here who still owns a SONY VAIO type VPCEE3J0E laptop. If so, could they let me know. I bought mine in January 2011 and it is still working fine, although it is somewhat slow on starting up. It is now running Windows 10.

Hi,

If you're still running the pre-installed 3GB memory this might be the reason for the low performance.

You might want to upgrade the memory of your machine when running Win10 (max. 8GB are possible).

Hello Peter,

I upgraded the memory in 2012 from 3GB to 6GB by replacing the original 1GB module with a new 4GB module (thereby preserving the original 2GB module rather than throwing both away). I have been thinking about replacing the Hard Disk Drive with an SSD but I have learned that, as from the start of this year, Sony are no longer supporting my laptop model. It appears that not only are software updates no longer being provided, there is no way of downloading the latest issue of the pre-installed software. No chance of a clean re-install, then.
