Hi... I have a rather annoying problem. My battery only runs for about half an hour before it runs out. When I first got it about a year ago, it lasted a good couple of hours. Admitedly I have less than 2 gigs left on my C: Drive, but I don't know where the other 12 gigs have gone. If anybody can help me with the battery and/or space problem, I would be very grateful...
Also, does anybody know of a good pop-up blocker? Free if possible... They're really annoying me...
Also... Does the 😧 drive work in the same way as the C: drive, because I heard it was not as good...
and what things can then be safely transferred onto the 😧 drive???
Cheers
It could just be that you're battery has got to the end of it's life although it should last longer. Anyway getting a new one or a second battery might help
I find the google toolbar very usuful (has a inbuilt pop up blocker), also has a form filler and of course the best search engine in the world always there.
D drive is simply another partition on the hardisk, you can put anything you like there. The best way to organise it and a way to speed up you're PC is to organise you're documents, music and video onto the D drive and have just installations and sysrtem files on you're C drive. As for space saving it really does depend on whats taking up all the space, if it's a mixture of everything doing what I stated above will help. Also go into add and remove in the control pannel and remove programs you have installed and dont use anymore.
Hope this helps
I would put documents on drive D as Street Spirit suggested.
You should also consider running "disk cleanup" on your C: drive, this will identify if you have lots of space used up by temporary files or deleted files in your recycle bin etc.
You can find disk cleanup under programs->accessories->system tools,
or run Explorer and right click on the C: drive then select properties, from here you should be able to run disk cleanup too.
HI
To get better life from you battery what you need to do is when you are not using the battery take it out of the laptop so that you are not overcharging it. I work for a computer and electronics retailer.
One of our big selling products is Digital cordless telephones. What we suggest to users of these phones is to charge the batterys fully, once the batterys are fully charged take the phone off charge and let it dechrge untill the low battery indicator comes on and then recharge the batterys. This is becasue of the batterys that are used in these phones. if you leave these batterys on constant charge it will degrade the life of your battery.
The same goes for laptop batterys, to get the best life from a battery charge it fully then decharege it fully. If you are not going to use you battery for a while decharge it and then take the battery out of you computer untill you need to use it again.
Hope that this helps
