hi guys...
this is a wierd one for ya...
i use my vaio laptop (fr415b) mainly for pro audio applications, as that is my profession so i have a lot of high end audio apps on it.
here is where the wierdness starts...
when i log onto the internet via dial up (all i have access to) all of my sound applications suddenly start playing everything in double speed!
im running an echo indigo i/o sound card if that helps...
anyone want to help me tackle this crazy issue
?
owen
Wow Owen, that is strange.
I don't think a USB soundcard would be much help to you if you use MIDI as the timing isn't as good.
I've had a similar problem on my Toshiba notebook - double speed audio - but it only happens rarely and only after the computer has been woken from hibernation.
The only solution I've come up with is a reboot.
yeah dudes this is weird as f##k
i have figured out that if i log on to the internet as soon as i turn my laptop on, then load my audio apps im fine. thing is im on shitty freeserve so it goes every two hours and reboots im dead. upon loggin on again it throws me into double speed gabba heaven again. great.
im fed up with rebooting. any coders know what the god damn f##k is going on cos this is insane.

maybe you can use an external modem? probably the modem drivers are messing up the sound set up?
just a wild guess, but an usb modem is rather cheap, suggesten: order it on the net, if it works, keep it, if not, send back withhin 2 weeks and get your money back
Could be an idea [*-:smileyhappy:]
Hopefuly that'll stop the double spped audio playback.
Guess you can call your VAIO VIO.
