Virgin V6 on KDL 32EX301

I have just had a Virgin V6 TiVo style box. When connected to the TV it shows no pictures and only displays sound. A reboot on the box has to be conducted to get picture and sound together. Virgin help desk and engineer visit has not helped stating that Sony will have to release a firmware update. Any thoughts?
