I bought the brilliant Sony WF-1000XM4 with the express intention of using them together with the above TV (both of which conform to A2DP bluetooth standard) and managed to get them to work brilliantly with my Xperia 1ii and yet my TV doesn't recognise them when trying to pair using the usual procedure (there's nothing wrong with my bluetooth on the TV as it recognises other devices, and I've also tried delink any other devices from the earphones before attempting the pairing process as per the instructions). I'm putting this out there before referring this to technical support, which is a bit hit and miss - the instructions for both appliances are pretty useless, but there's nothing unusual there.
Hi @choreil65
I have a slightly different set up to you but I thought I would give it a go. I am sure that you followed the pairing procedure so perhaps you can tell us at which stage does it fails. I have a small TV in my bedroom, KD-43X89J and the latest WH-1000XM5.
1. Find Bluetooth in the Settings.
2. Put the TV in pairing mode.
3. In my case with the XM5, you turn on the headphones and then, hold down the power button for 5 seconds until the blue light flashes double very quickly. The headphones are in paring mode and picked up by the TV.
4. Choose the headphones to Pair.
5. Once confirmed.
6. Make sure that the headphones are selected on the Audio output. Note I had to turn up the volume to 55 so I could hear on the headphones. Normal TV volume is 35 for me.
If it is failing then you may have a faulty TV and you should contact your Retailer in the first instance. If they cannot help you try Sony Support.
