TV remote eats battery

My RM-ED044 eats battry!

How come?

Earlier it could take years between changes, now the battries last only 3 days!

What can that depend on?

Can anything be done except removing batteries when the TV is not used?

Hi there

A couple of things to check.

1. Are you using fresh batteries or old ones that may have been found at the bottom of a draw somewhere?
2. Closly inspect the remote control buttons to ensure that none of the buttons are stuck down (a stuck button may be using the batteries to "try" to send signals)
