Sony-Bravia KDL-26S3020 - Freeview Picture Shift?

Hi,

I own a Sony-Bravia KDL-26S3020.

I've noticed something odd when viewing Freeview TV channels and I'm wondering if someone on here can offer any insight.

When I watch a TV channel via the TV Tuner then switch to viewing the same channel via my DVD player the picture shifts 1cm to the right. (i.e. I lose 1cm off the right edge, but gain a cm of picture on the left edge?)

Is this normal?

Hi there

I thought about your issue here, and have a theory.  I am wondering if you have differnet screen formats setup for your DVD player and TV.  As in, one device could be setup as "Full" or "Letterbox" and another device could be using "Zoom" or "Wide Zoom" or something.

Try setting the screen formats the same for both TV and DVD player to test this.

Many thanks for your help.

I've checked the settings and they are as follows:

TV = Wide

DVD

TV Aspect = 16:9 Wide

Video Out = Component (Progressive)

To be honest if it was an Aspect Ratio issue I'd expect a bigger change between images (i.e. black borders may be added or I'd lose some of the picture from the top / bottom of the screen or the picture would become distorted).

I've done a (very rough) mock-up of what is going on below (if that is any help?)
