Software update failure KD-55XE7073

Hello,

How do I resolve a software update failure on a Sony KD-55XE7073. The tv is now unresponsive. Any help please.

By hard and soft update, do you mean using the TV and USB update methods?

Sorry I meant hard and soft restart but still nothing , my tv was working absolutely perfect until the update box came up on screen , so I pressed it to update and then it never worked since.

Why are you posting a two year old thread, should have started your own new thread.

Which update were you trying to install, and from which version.

The latest version is v8.905.

I have a KD-43XF7073 which after attempting a software update in July 2020 failed,

the TV was unresponsive to any input from the remote control.

The TV would turn on but only on one channel with sound but the screen info panel and other

screen dialogues displayed. Buttons on the back of the TV did not work.

TV had to go away for repair. Repair person said that the mainboard had to be replaced

and this was a common fault with Sony TVs. Got the TV back and it has been fine and the software

has been updated since, but not to this latest release.

I would never have the TV set to update automatically, I prefer to download the software and  install it myself.
