RDF-ED001W remote not working

I have a sony bravia KDL-40EX1 tv and the remote stopped working properly, skipping channels and volume ect, every time a button is pressed the EXT button flashes, batteries have been changed, still not working so purchased a new remote, this one doesn't work at all and the EXT button flashes, any advixe would be really appreciated!

Also bought a new remote, and now detecting the same errors. Buttons are not working, EXT is flashing a button is pressed. What is the issue here?

welcome to Questions & Answers..

My inital suggestion would be that the batteries in the remote need to be replaced but as you have tried that & purchased a new remote that is obviously not a solution in your case..

I had a look at the user manual & might be a long shot but have you tried pressing the Ext button to see if that solves the problem..:smileyconfused:

Failing that have you got any other devices connected to your bravia, if so does removing them allow the remote to work correctly..:smileyconfused:
