My Sony Bravia tv model no KDL-V3000 has a approx 6inch bar at the top of the screen which is distorting the colour the tv is nearly 4 years old

From the sounds of it, your TV has developed a hardware fault, of which cannot be resolved on these forums.  You will need to contact an authorised Sony Repair Centre
