Hi there

Unfortunately for you, the STR-DG820 is not 3D compatible. 3D requires every link in the chain to be 3D compatible. Your only solution is to plug your bluray player (BDP-S490) directly into your TV (KDL46HX853) via a HDMI 1.4 cable.

as above but dont forget to set audio using either a digital optical or coaxial cable from your player to the amp

thanks for info. it still works ok for 2d but will prob end up upgrading .There is a newer 820 style amp ,looking at the product range,that should be a good replacement
