Hi Everyone,
I'm new here so will try my best to share as much useful detail as possible, any assistance or advice would be really well received.
I purchased a Sony Bravia back in 2014, 32 inch model KDL-32EX403 and never had need to connect to the internet. I'd had it configured to auto-update as well - which from reading the help articles "should" have been possible over the airwaves (unless I'm miss-understanding). The firmware version on my TV is PKG4.114EUL-0108.
I've come across an issue where I now am in a position to connect my TV to the internet to maybe make use of things like the Amazon or Youtube app, and I can't refresh the internet services for the life of me. I was getting an error code 2200 initially, but now I just get a flat out error code 0. I've picked up and IP, and the messages seem to imply I'm either failing at or just after "authenticating".
One of the troubleshooting steps on Sony's help steps is to update the firmware (I've tried pretty much all the other steps without much luck). It seems to me I missed the boat on getting the latest firmware (deadline was Jan 2022 for my TV model). Is there any other avenue for me to get a copy of the Firmware to try a manual update on my Telly?
It's such a good telly and I'd love to (finally) make use of these other services.
Thanks in advance,
Ed
Hey Ed_Merchant, I've contacted Sony about your enquiry and they confirmed that there is no other way to get the update, so my suggestion is to try to go through all the steps (Except the SW update) if you couldn't restore the connection you might consider getting a fire stick. Your TV doesn't have many apps on it and frankly for an old model I don't think they would work.
