KDL46-HX803 screen fault ?

Hi, sorry this has been asked before, ive had a search round but cant find an answer. so.
I have the 46hx803, which is fed through a sony bdv-e380 surround system. there is a grey bar at the bottom of the screen about 10mm across the whole width.see below photos

 it is on every channel and seems to be on all settings.
can someone tell me what this is, is it a screen fault or a setting that I can change.
I cant alter the vertical position of the screen as its hdmi.. I think

any help would be appreciated

Have you tried updating the firmware and then resetting the TV?

Does it appear on both Freeview & HDMI inputs as well ?

I tried updating the firmware but it said I already had the latest version.

The bar is across everything.  Freeview TV, sky via HDMI and BluRay via HDMI.

Thought it may be an overscan issue but cant seem to get into the service menu or adjust the vertical size/position.

As its across all sources, it might be time to get this repaired via an authorised Sony Repair Centre.  Available Here.
