KDL-40V3000- Black shadows on the right hand side

Hi, my TV is about 5 years old and in the last couple of months its started developing these black shadows on the right hand side and a small one on the bottom. I thought it was the Virgin/Sky box but its not, is this going to get worse? I have heard the TV could catch fire as well!!??

Can someone please offer me some advice or recommend a repair agent?

Why is this a customer problem there seems to be 100s of people with this problem after 18 months do sony TVs only last this long ?

This model TV is NOT 18months old, it is infact 6 years old from what I can gather.  If this is not your model TV, you should not post in this thread.
