KDL-40NX700 - USB file formats - how to upgrade TV?

How can I upgrade the software on my TV so it can run more file formats (over USB).

I have a second Sony TV and it runs the file perfectly fine with the same file on the same USB stick - but on

KDL-40NX700 it doesnt. Guess a software upgrade is required - how can I do that or is there another solution?

Hi there

Unfortuately you cannot upgrade the software/firmware for the TV in regards to addition file  format support. 

The only thing I can suggest is either convert the file/s to the supported format using a video converter software on a laptop/computer, or purchasing a media player such as SMP-N200, or even a blu-ray player.
