KD49x8505bbu:
I have created a favorites list from the Digital channels but they are all in the wrong order. I need to have BBC3 and BBC3 HD together.
I can see no way of sorting in Favorites. Is this possible?
I can see an option to Sort the Channels list but that is long winded and is reset with a Scan.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks

Hi yes it does come up as soon as i insert the USB stik,
and i press ok yes, it then ask me if i want over write
i press ok yes then it says failed.
I dont know why it would fail.
Only advice I can suggest really, is.... redo it all again. Clear and format USB drive, export the list again. etc.
Hi again i have tried this 3 times with different USB sticks,
still not working.
I was lookinf at my system settings i can see i can unregister my USB
but the setting register USB is greyed out?
Ahhh, thats the missing link, I think that this is where the issue is.
You only need to register the USB drive if you are intending to use it for recording programs (ie USB HDD Recording). If you have registered it previously for recording TV programs AND you dont want to use it for that purpose again, simply de-register it. Alternatively use another USB drive that hasnt been registered.
Hi again i have tried to deregister the USB unit
it tells me that there is no USB unit pluged in
but there is.
If press on setting USB register it says the internet video
provider does not allow this?
I have netflix on this TV could it be this?
Hi there
I have absolutely no idea why your having so much trouble. There is one more way though you can test to see if your USB drive is actually recognised properly by the TV. If you can download a sample file from : http://www.demo-world.eu/trailers/hd-movie-trailers.php and then try and playback that file on your TV. If you can play that file directly on the TV via the USB drive, then the USB drive is fine.
However if not... Then their is either something wrong with the USB drive, or that it is not supported. Yes, sometimes USB drives are simply not compatible for whatever reason. You could try to re-format that drive to say FAT32 and see if that helps.
Cheers
Hi the situation is i have tried 4 different USB sticks all have
been formated with fat32, on all i can copy the channel list file,
and edit this list on my pc then copy the edited list to these USB sticks,
when i insert this USB stick into the TV it registers that there is a channel
list xml file and asks if if i want to install the new channel list i say yes to this
then new box it asks if i want to overwrite the channel list with the new one yes to
this then it a new box comes up and says failed.
The USB sticks can play video, musik, photo etc.
Its a bit difficult to tell exactly you what the box says as its in Danish on TV,
but i have tried to translate.
Hi there
I think its time to give Sony Support a buzz on this one to be honest. However, you've just replied back as saying that its a Danish TV - could it be that its only supported in certain countries? I cannot answer that.
Give Sony Support a go, and if you manage to get it resolved, could you post back, as im interested to know what the issue was.
Cheers
Hi the KDL-46W905A model is sold in many contries i think
i will try Sony suport.
But just one more thing, could it be a software setting thats got
lost with all the updates it has about 6 or 7 since new.
Could it be a reset of some kind could solve the problem?
If so how to do this, could you help?
Thanks again.
Actually your right, its not the country. In fact I dont even think its the firmware. I have a W807A TV and it uses the same firmware as the W905A. It works on mine.... I dont understand why not on yours to be honest.
Another thing, you cannot roll-back the FW on the TVs anyway, even if it was a FW fault.
The only thing you can do is a factory reset - which does cure many problems.
