How do I get catch up tv on my Sony Bravia? Is there any way of doing this?

So yes, it may go on to describe how to cast from a mobile phone alone; but can you see that many people reading this page, even seeing ‘mobile phone’ under item 3, would see the mentions of computer in the bracketing items 2 and 4, conclude that a computer was essential for this process, as well as a mobile phone, and go no further if they didn’t have one?

Sony need to rewrite this page to better match the reality here.

To say we are frustrated and angry would be putting it mildly. We recently decided to purchase a new Sony Bravia  A 8 J  . After the purchase we discovered  that BBC iPlayer is not available on this set, nor is ITV player.

We have been promised a automatic update, but this has not happened yet.

Why would they produce these sets without this facility, which is constantly being advised to use by BBC.

We have wasted our money.

For 2020 ''and below'' Android TVs, you can find them in ''Live TV & Catch up'': https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00254819

For the 2021 models, so far the only surviour is the W800

But, as promised by Sony, they should be available within 2021, so let's wait and see.

If its of any use, you should be able to add 'my5' from the store (It works on my x90j).  Shame we don't have a more accurate eta on the others though.

That could also be a workaround for one of the applications for now.
