Help! Devices connected to TV via HDMI stop TV Signal

Weird situation with a Sony  TV  KDL-37W5500

Anything plugged into TV via HDMI lead...when turned on...then prevents TV Freeview Digital channels from appearing. Message No Signal on the TV. Switch off the devives connected via HDMI and the TV channels reappear.

Any idea what the problem is?

Hi there

That is a weird problem isnt it.  My money is on electrical interference in your situation.

A couple of things you can try:

1. Replace the HDMI cable with another one, especially if its one of those el-cheapo freebie ones. (preferably with a bit of shielding)
2. Ensure that your aerial cable is of good quality (not broken or frayed and as above, shielded)
3. Ensure that you have the latest firmware installed
