Connecting LG dvd to Sony Bravia tv to enable surround sound on both.

I have a Sony Bravia tv KDL- 37S55xx  and  a LG DVD Receiver System (surround sound) model HT3O5SU.  My problem is how do I connect them so that I can have the surround sound whilst watching TV or when watching a DVD,s.

Hi,

you cannot have both im afraid, you will only be able to play DVD in dolby digital, your player is not equiped with a digital optical in put which may have enabled you to watch content from your tv in dolby digital however there is not that many programmes broadcasting in dolby digital anyway.
