Bravia KDL42W829 - Start-Up Logo Gone

I have the Sony Bravia KDL42W829 The "SONY" start-up logo when I turn the TV on is no longer there. I have checked the settings and it is set to "On", I have turned the TV off at the mains for 5 minutes and back on again and I have done a factory reset. All that and the start-up logo still does not appear. Any solutions?

I assume you've turned it on via these instructions : HERE ?

Other than the startup logo - does the TV work as expected?  If so, I personally wouldnt worry about it too much.

Yes I have tried that. The TV works as expected but I do not understand why the start-up logo has gone.

This happened after the latest firmware update.

Can you investigate?

Same problem here with KDL42W828B. But as I remember it worked normally after firmware update for some time.

Today I notice that I don't have startup logo with settings ON.

Does it matter?

Maybe Sony decided it was tacky and it was removed.

No, it's actually OK. But to show it on startup is.
