I had to perform a factory reset on my Sony XA2 Ultra which resulted in a reset of my Sony Smartwatch 2. So all the apps I had originally installed on the watch had been removed. No problem I thought, I would just connect the watch and then download them again. Problem is the apps are no longer available on Google Play store so when I try to download them the phone just hangs. My question is does anybody know where I can get the apps from. I particular need the messages app the most but I would like to install the others as well such as the email and gmail apps. Thanking you in advance.
You can try to get the app from the website directly since the Play store isn't working, but you'll need to enable downloads from other sources, here's what I found.
Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I already have the Sony 2 Smartwatch App downloaded and installed to my phone. When you open the Smartwatch 2 App, under recommended apps there is a list of apps that you can click on and install. Some of the apps are on the Google Play service and some are not. The one in particular that I am after is the Messaging apps which is no longer on Google Play service. There must be an apk file somewhere on the Sony website that I can download. I have tried searching the website to no avail. Anyway much obliged for the reply.
I guess you can install the apk app from 3rd party websites, which can run smooth and be cool, but could also risk performance.
