Screen Lock password forgotten - how to Factory Reset?

Hello my XPeria Play somehow activated the screen lock in my Pocket (it´s true!). How can I either recover it or do a factory reset?

this method worked for me, i lost my data but least i managed to upgrade OS of my xperia and what i lost i recovered by backup account.

i have forgotten my pattern lock so idownloaded pc companion and did till selecting the device then the pc

companion downloads update software my nets very slow it  cant download it

it takes 1 hr to have a change in download can i download it in much better way

or faster like the pc companion did before  

can u snd me the link frm where u downloaded the sofware update for  pc companion
