Chinese Keyboard

Bought an Xperia S about a week ago. Downloaded a few Apps - WhatsApp and Box. Not sure these are responsible. Downloaded latest upgrade. My phone now has a chinese keyboard how do I get back to an English Keyboard. I have English (UK) set as language and location but it is showing a chinese and japanese keyboard in settings and I can't delete these or get an English only keyboard.

Messaging > new message > tap and hold on input tray > input method > select the type of keyboard

or

while using keyboard, drag down the notification bar down and select the input method

Many thanks....... it worked but how do I stop this happening again. I doubt i will ever want a Chinese or Japanese keybord!

Not sure how it happened in the first place but good to know how to get out of it.
