UBP-X800 not powering on

My wife was playing a Blu-Ray a few days ago and the player stopped  and lost power and signal. I’ve changed the fuse in the 13amp socket but still won’t power on. The disc is still inside. The player is about 15 months old. Any help would be appreciated

He @ronenza, yes there is a fuse inside the molded plug as explained here in page 3. I hope this helps.

I think when @ronenza said ‘inside’ he meant ‘within the confines of the box’.

Certainly, that is what I took it to mean. Though I am not sure if he has this issue himself, or is just replying to a rather old post….

And I have fixed a DVD player (though not a Sony) by opening the box and replacing an internal fuse.

However, opening the UBP-X800 box to check this would likely invalidate any remaining warranty, so not recommended, especially if there is a tamper-proof seal.

The one I fixed was out of warranty, so….

Based on what you already did, you might need to contact a Sony engineer to get the unit inspected.
