I've had this 4k blu ray player for 5 months and only purchased it after reading that the freezing issues had been resolved by software update, confident that all would be fine once updated.
Unfortunately whilst playing Die Hard on 4k disc about a month ago, the player froze twice and had to restart before being able to press any buttons. Since then, the player has frozen during Netflix playback and recently during Amazon instant video playback.
I don't use it very much, I tend to use it as a luxury viewing platform, maybe twice a week, so this problem seems quite often.
Surely this player is still being supported even though there are newer models, but I hear about this problem quite a lot and nothing appears to be getting resolved.
As others have said this player cost a lot of money and we are expecting Sony to make sure the player works the way they told us it would.
