Hello to all who read this thread.
I have the following problem. I have a STR-DH590 receiver that is connected to the KD-43XG8096 tv with an optical cable as described in the instructions, but after watching a movie when the movie is done and there is no signal from the TV there is a lot of annoying noise from the receiver. If I turn it off and on with your TV, the problem is resolved until the next turn on.
This is only after watching a movie (the movie ends) and turning off the TV player and leaving one kind of inactive. "Snake like a snake" very bad. It's like I don't have HiFI, but some cheap Chinese receiver for 50 €.
Any idea how to solve the problem?
Hi @fackir4o I’m not sure why you are using an Optical cable as now-a-days the HDMI connection from TV Out to ARC on the TV is the recommended route. This will give you full Theatre Control (Bravia Sync) using only the TV Remote. Optical cable is now old technology. It may not fix your problem but it is worth a try.
Moreover why you wrote in your cabling that LAN to the tv is unusable due to the 10/100 mbps limitation? It is good enough for streaming any kind of content (except very very high bitrate 4K content) and it is far more reliable than wifi....IMHO
There are movies that run at 80-90 mbps and are slightly saturated (chop). My router is a gigabit MIMO and is a better option.the TV connects to a router of 240 megabits which is more than 100.
You removed the optical cable as you advised me, but the problem remains as I described it. Only the noise stops by pressing "Pure saund" on the receiver. I don't know what to do. Could it be a bad cable? Advices?
using wifi you may reach an higher bandwith than 100 mbps but not really 240. if you feel is smoother this way and your signal is very strong you may leave it.
In your video unfortunately I cannot hear nothing, nonetheless is not advised to have both connection (optical and HDMI ARC) to your tv . Leave it only on arc
I removed the fiber optic cable as you advised me. The problem remains. Only the noise is corrected if I turn everything off and release it again. Obviously there is some problem that comes with the TV software, because by disconnecting the HDMI cable from the TV when there is noise, the receiver makes no noise. This is observed after watching a movie through KODI. If I turn off the TV and the receiver and turn them on again, things are going well. Strange. Can anyone confirm my words? Thanks.
