Sony VPL-CX85 Not powering on

Hi All,

I recently lent my VPL-CX85 to a friend for an art show she was putting on and despite telling them not to unplug it before it running the shutdown process they unplugged it without switching it off. I'm now stuck with a projector that doesn't power on at all (nor does it give any indication that it is receiving power despite testing different power leads) 

I have gone through the hand book and had a search online trying to figure out what I can do to fix it but can't seem to find anything, does anyone have any suggestions on how I might fix this and get it working again?

Hi there

If there is absolutely no power at all (no fan, no nothing) and you have swapped power leads then its most likely some type of hardware fault and will need servicing by an authorised Sony repair centre.

I have attached the service manual to this post - however I do NOT recommend you attemping anything unless you know what you are doing.
