Sony HT-MT500 subwoofer with a HT-ST5000?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the subwoofer that comes with the HT-MT500 with the HT-ST5000 soundbar?

The HT-ST5000 subwoofer is too large for my liking so it'd be great if I can pair the smaller, neater, HT-MT500 subwoofer with it.

I've contacted Sony Support who've informed me that they can't guarantee the functionality between the two devices. I'm asking if it works, not if it's supported.

If Support have advised you that functionality is not guaranteed, I would not be able to advise you further on this.
