Problems with BDP-S185 blu-Ray player

Whilst playing a disc blu ray player will frequently display that disc is playing as well as once every few minutes turning the child lock on and off by itself. Also, player always has to be unplugged whilst not in use as it will constantly turn itself back on. Have performed a software update and it's not helped. I'm quite glad it's not connected to the Internet, goodness knows what it would do!

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there

It sounds like you have a short somewhere in the player.  The first thing I would try is resetting the player back to default setting, just in case.  But to be honest, it looks like a hardware issue and would need to be looked at by an authorised Sony repair centre.  See HERE for one near your.  However, as this player is coming on to 5 years old, it might be more cost effective to replace it.
