HX900 DVD recorder player not reading DVD's

My HX900 DVD recorder player is not reading DVD's. It has been boxed and stored for about 5 years.

How do I access the lens to clean it?

Is there a rubber band involved with the drive that may spin the disc that could have gotten stuck?

This is not my only Sony DVD that has the exact same problem but fixing 1 at a time will do.
