now please stay with me a little longer as i am not techno literate.

do i connect my sky hd box to my home theatre system with an optical cable to get the footie in surround sound & then hdmi cables from my sky & home theatre system via the splitter box you suggest.

thanks for that. I now have all the cables but have to disconnect the HDMI cable from the blu ray player to the splitter to get the sky hd on my tv even though it is supposed to be an auto changeover.

Can you help please?
