How do I cast my Windows 10 screen to my BDP-S3500 ?

I have my Blu-Ray BDP-3500 on my homwm wireless network.

With this I can watch films on my TV screen using my Netflix & Amazon Instant Video accounts or freely using and YouTube.

What I cannot do is cast the screen from my new Windows 10 computer to the device. It worked with Vista but now no deal.

I have set up windows media player as a media server on the PC and I can see it from the BDP-3500. Using this I can open and view photos I have on the computer hard drive. However when ever I select a folder of video files it says "Nothing to see here." This includes MP4 and midi files.

Can anyone help?

I have seen HomeStream reccomended elsewhere as media server software. Would that be more sucessful?

Hi there

I would suggest using Serviio instead of screen-mirroring from your laptop.  Homestream is based on the Serviio platform, however Sony has discontinued Homestream a few years back now.

Thanks, I thought the HomeStream suggestion looked like it was quite old. I'll let you know how it goes.
