Can I play region 1 blue ray disc on my uk bought BDP-S350

I can only find a blue ray version of the film " The English Patient" in the USA or Canada. My Sony player is the BDP S350 bought in the UK. If I buy the disc will it play on a region 2 player? and if not can I adapt the player to play region 1 discs??

Hello.  Blu-ray regions are different to DVD regions.  The UK is region 2 for DVD but region B for Blu-ray.  Out of the box your player will only play these regions.  The player can be made region free for DVD but not Blu-ray.  However, a lot of Blu-ray discs coming from America are suitable for regions A, B and C.  There are only 3 regions for Blu-Ray.  It is worth checking with the supplier which regions the disc is suitable for.  Alternatively, I find this website to be quite useful for checking suitability.  I hope this is useful.
