Black screens 2-3 secs watching films on PS3

When watching DVDs or video via USB memory stick I regularly get black screens appear for 2-3 seconds at a time.

This is most annoying and ruins my viewing experience.

Any ideas what the problem is or how it can be fixed?

I have a PS3 slim 120gb I think (prob one of the first slim batches). It is under guarantee.

If the USB device you are using isn't a Sony device there's a good chance that this is the cause, I have both a Sony and a cheap USB flash drive and my cheap USB does this also.

Try a genuine Sony USB flash drive!
