BDPS7200 will not switch off

Hello, my blu ray DVD player (BDPS7200) is two years old, has always worked perfectly, but lately will not switch off. I have to unplug it at the mains as pressing the standby switch will not turn it off. 

Has anyone else experienced this?

PS I've updated the software and reset to the factory settings but the issue still persists.

This might be due to some sort of Sync between the player and the connected TV. If it's connected via HDMI, could you try to disable the Control for HDMI settings?
