Hi, I recently bought (via Facebook Marketplace) a Sony Blu Ray Player BDP-S570. In trying to get it set up, I went through the 'reset to factory defaults' and 'remove all personal information' menu options. My issue is that I can't register the player onto my Sony account as it is already regsitered via the previous owner. I've been in touch with Sony and they advise me they need the previous owner to un-register it from his account so I can register it to mine. I've been in touch with the previous owner and his issue is that he no longer has access to the email addess that he used to register his account wth Sony and hence he can't log-in (forgot password and clearly any password reset will go to his old - no longer available- email address), so he can't un-register it. We've both tried calling Sony to explain but they seem to be insisting on receving an email from the previous owner via his registered email address - bit of a catch 22 here! Any advice from anyone as to other things I / we can try? The player will play disks etc but I can't get access to any of the 'smart' features such as iPlayer, Netflix etc.
I've now also found this help - https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/home-video-blu-ray-disc-players-recorders/bdp-s570/articl... but I don't have the option to dergister on mine even though the help guide says it's applicable to my player.
registration of the products on mysony ore other sony account should have only marketing purposes, nothing to do with the usability of the products. You should be able to sign in i.e. onto netflix regardless of the mysony registration, simply using the account information for netflix itself.
So maybe I'm asking the wrong questions then.
How do I add Netflix and other apps then?
I've been and done a complete reset (factory and personal settings) and tried again - See images for what I get.
Don't you have any app under video column?
Regarding the registration di you try to register to mysony or to SEN (https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com ) ? only the latter should have any impact on the app you may use
Yup, that was on one of my other photos!
Under video, I have (in this order) Amazon Prime Video, Stingray Qello, YuppTV, GREEN.TV, uStudio, Tagesschau, and DW.
I created my Sony account (as instructed by the screen on the BDP) at account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/services When I go to that website, (after a few clicks) it asks me for a 5 digit code which I'm guessing will be on the BDP screen once it has been deregistered by the previous owner.
I did it so long time ago I forgot the procedure, but the code should be your own PIN associated to you mail not the previous owner. I do not see any device on my own account (i have a BDPS5100 and a KD55A1).
There should be an app on your bdp to enroll to SEN, in which you should link your BDP with the account. What happen if you push the SEN button on your remote?
Hi, When I registered my account, I didn't get a PIN. When I try (via the website) to activate, it asks me for the 5 digit activation code from the device and I think after entering this it will ask for billing info before letting me create a PIN. I get stuck here: It's the activation code I can't get from my BDP as it's still registered to the old owner - when I can post more pictures, I'll show you what I get on my TV screen fro the BDP.
Assuming this works (linking photos and not uploading them) here are my screenshots of what I get.

Not sure why some appear as pictures and some dont - the links should still work though
