Bad audio lag on Soundbar

I have a Sony KD49X8305CBU 4k TV and a HT-CT180 soundbar. While watching the TV, audio and visuals are perfectly synced. When I watch and listen via the soundbar I get such a bad lag between audio and visual that it is unwatchable.
How can I fix this?

Ok - I see that you have an Android based TV - at current there are various lip-sync issues, for example within the YouTube app.

I take it that the lip-sync is fine when using the TV speakers, but not when outputting audio via the soundbar.  Is this for broadcast TV (i.e. Freeview) or another app or device connected?

Sometimes a soft reboot of the TV helps too - Press and hold the power button on the TVs remote control for more than 6 seconds and the TV will reboot itself.
