I have an issue with my STR DN1080 flooding my home network with traffic whilst in Standby mode. This only happens on the wired connection. This took out my entire wired network I thought I had been hacked which was very frightening. It only happened about 36 hours after I switched to a wired connection.
A user in America has the same problem on the STR DN1070. Which you can read about here...
What next steps would you suggest please?

This is very odd. An obvious workaround would be to connect the amp via W-Fi.
In the meantime, make sure the software is up to date: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/audio-components-receivers-amplifiers/str-dn1080/download...
I'm interested in the method you used to identify the problem though.

I have the same problem, just spent all morning trying to find out why my router kept going down. It was the STR DN1080 flooding the network. I am just going to disconnect the ethernet and try it on wifi. Sony should be ashamed to have this kind of issue on a top end receiver. Where is the quality assurance process?
