Communication issue between PRS 650 and Calibre

Hi,

since a short week a 650 is mine.

As Reader Library does not fit my requirements, e.g conversion from PDF to epub, I looked for an alternative. I tried Calibre. But it seams, there is an communication issue between 650 and Calibre, I found some posts in Calibre bug report. Calibre says it is an hardware task an the user should ask Sony.

Has anyone an idea?

Hallo zusammen,

seit einer knappen Woche habe ich einen ebookreder PRS 650.

Da  die Reder Library nicht alles das bietet, was ich mir wünsche  (Stichwort: Konvertierung), habe ich Calibre ausprobiert. Leider wird  der Reader zwar erkannt, es werden aber keine ebook übertragen. Die  Fehlermeldung kommt bereits bei Erstellen der Bücherliste. Ein ähnliches  Problem habe ich auf der Calibre bug-Seite bereitsgefunden, da wird  jedooch ein Hardwareproblem dafür verantwortlich gemacht: Kontaktiere  Sony.

Hier der Fehlercode, den Calibre auswirft.

Kann hier jemand damit etwas anfangen?

Welche Version von Calibre hast Du denn? Die neueste Version (0.7.27), die gerade mal ein paar Tage alt ist, unterstützt den 650. Bei mir funktioniert alles einwandfrei mit Calibre (installiert unter Linux).

Tut mir leid, dass ich Dir nichts zu der Fehlermeldung selbst sagen kann.

Hi Giprosp,

I'm using Calibre 0.7.27, but with Windows XP Prof.

There is the 650 not specified, just the older ones and a general profile called "Sony Reader".

Since yesterday I have an additional issue, the content of the reader isn't shown in the windows of Main Storage and the inserted SD-Card.

Any sugestions?

sorry for that.

Unfortunately there is no reader-forum at Sony available in German language. Thats why I posted in both.

Do you know if there is chance to have one. That might be easier for people using a sony reader in Germany.

Hi Michael,

Just some information on the roll-out of the Forum.

As you correctly point out, we are not fully live yet in all countries. We are working very hard though to setup the necessary processes and resources in each of the countries. This requires a bit of time so please bear with us as we do plan to go live in Germany at one point.

Have you tried installing the latest version from the Calibre website?
