This time I bring you a book recommendation that will please those of you who like books with stories that complement each other, as well as fans of personal stories of love, proposals and marriage over the last century, or simply fans of good reads
The Engagements, a book by J. Courtney Sullivan, follows the story of a diamond ring through the 20th century as it's passed and presented to different people as a symbol of love.
One of the protagonists in of the stories the book is precisely Mary Frances Gerety, the advertising executive who coined the phrase "A diamond is forever" in the 1940s that is still commonly used today. It's ironic then how her story unfolds, but I'm not going to spoil it for you, you'll have to read it for yourself!
For an interesting insight into the New York based author you can read an interview by the New York Times here and watch a video interview with her here.
I hope you enjoy it!
