Hello,
I have purchased RX100M3 camera recently and I am struggling with wireless transfer set-up. I have installed Imaging Edge app for Mac (10.15.4 Catalina), connected camera to WiFi and that was the end of the road. I have read countless of guides how to connect camera via PlayMemories (now deprecated) or use Edit/Remote/Viewer, but I can only connect these apps via USB cable. Even then Remote prompt says camera is not connected. What is the recommended set-up then? I have purchased this camera specifically because of the wireless RAW/ARW picture transfer feature, so that I can review pictures in real time on the Mac.
PS: I was able to send pictures from cam to smartphone via Imaging Edge mobile app, but that works only for JPG files.
Could you possibly try a different Mac just to be sure the issue is with the app rather than anything else?
It's the same on mine Joe, On the desktop version of Imaging Edge there is no option for sending or receiving images wirelessly between the mac and my Sony RX cameras. Or if there is it's very well hidden. I think I cracked it about a month ago, but to be honest Imaging Edge seems so user unfriendly that I went off exploring alternatives.
We may be doing something wrong - or expecting IE desktop to have a feature (wireless transfer) where it was never intended to. Perhaps the initiation has to always be done at the camera end but that is very clunky. Imagine scrolling through images and selecting them with no touch screen, then attempting to set up the transfer link which is flakey at the best of times. Infinitely easier to set your camera up as a dumb USB mass storage device then use something like Photos to import what you want off the card. But I think I only got this to work via USB cable. Might try again later and document the issues.

OK - here's what happens when you try to send one or more pics via wifi from the RX10m3 to a macbook pro running Catalina.
step 1 - on the camera choose a photo you want to send
step2 - in the camera's menu choose 'send to computer'
You are then presented with a screen on the camera that says:
"Information of the computer where the data is to be saved is not set to the device. Connect the computer to the device with a USB cable and set it." (you can only press Ok to go any further)
Step 3 - connect a usb cable
after a brief flash of an intermediate screen (too fast to read). A Playmememories screen comes up with pics of a camera connecting to a smartphone and a camera stood next to a desktop (but interestingly no little waves shown between them !!!).
Step 4 press OK on the above screen on the camera.
The camera then shows a screen saying USB Mode,Mass Storage, USB, and simply sits there. The only option you are given is to possibly press the camera's playback button but this just toggles between usb connection and USB power supply.
I can of course go into the Mac's Finder and see the camera's SD card and indeed could suck the images out and store them on the MAC. But that is not via Wifi.
I tried firing up Imaging Edge just in case it allowed me to do a set up as described in step 2 but no joy.
I can connect my RX10M3 to my household wifi network to which of course the Macbook is connected too. But the camera doesn't show up as a location on the network (in Finder on the MAC). And when I try to send a picture from the camera it gives the same confusing message as in step 2 above.
.... whew

I've done some research over the weekend but couldn't reply right away due to some Internet issues (router just decided to say its goodbyes for no reason).
As mentioned by Mike in his -very appreciated- last post, the camera shows PlayMemories since that is the app that had the Wi-Fi transfer feature, and the Remote sub-app of Imaging Edge Desktop is for shooting only and doesn't have a transfer option. Looking through the details on PlayMemories, it's currently unavailable on Catalina and is scheduled to be discontinued as per this page here: http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/disoft/int/playmemories-home/en/index.html though I couldn't find a date (after the initial already-extended date).
So I'd use USB and Finder or Imaging Edge Mobile (which has always been my choice).
Hope this helps!
Joe.
