Hello,
Love the RX10 MKIV! However, I'm having major issues with continuous focus on video. In particular conditions, with particular settings (and I'm yet to find the specific cause) the focus will rapidly swap in and out of focus, as if it cannot find a point to focus on. Video attached from perfectly well lit scene, settings not unreasonable, and yet it cannot focus.
I'd love to know if anyone has any idea what is causing this and if there is a way to prevent it happening, or work around it.
Thank you in advance,
B.
Hi @thoughtben I guess the camera might be set to a focus mode that isn't suitable for continuous focus, so try to avoid using the zoom range where the camera struggles to focus. If necessary, change your position or zoom level.
Thank you so much for the reply!
The issue is hard to reproduce but next time it occurs I'll flick the focus limiter switch thing and see if it makes a difference.
My impression is that it's either (a) manufacturing fault that only occasionally appears, or (b) a very specific culmination of aperture-shutter-ISO settings that I'm yet to determine!
